'98 SE 5spd vs. '01 Honda Prelude Auto
I wanna know what you guys think the Prelude needs as far as modifications to take a stock Maxima. Keep in mind that I ran 15.081 @92.01mph my very first time to the track.
Actual experience with the Lude would be a great help.

I raced a 2k1 lude 5 spd. We were dead even and then when his vtec kicked in, he sloooooooowly started walking; in his 4th gear he was only 1 1/2 car length ahead... he had cai, greddy cb; I have a short stub HAI
So the 5spd is minimum 1/2 second faster... so bout 5 car lengths..
my opinion 4 u......turbo!!~

The auto (sports shift) prelude will need quite a few mods to able to do the time you did in your stock maxima. then again, there are some prelude owners with autos that can use the auto preludes potential.
The 5spd Prelude does a 15.8 quarter mile run with an average driver. Whereas the Auto Prelude does low 16s with of course an average driver.
There's a couple of Prelude owners who have gotten down to low 15s with the auto with minor bolt-ons but don't get me wrong, there are some really good drivers who can use the auto prelude's potential. As for the auto prelude, your friend is better off going for all show and no go unless he can afford some kind of force induction and knows how to drive. Good Luck!

word on the street around my parts is that the 2.2 in the prelude can handle a 100 shot of juice. so your friend with anywhere between a 50-100 shot will be able to do some damage to ya.Originally posted by luckee2bhere
