How much money have you guys put into your car

Just wondering, how much money have you invested into sound equipment/ and mods in your car or to your car?

Just wondering

Tires = $500
Brakes = $200
FSTB = $40
PR Intake = $250
Clear Corners = $50
Lights = $75
Regular Wash/Maint = ????
Gas = ???????????????

Total known: $1100+
In all fairness, it needed the tires and brakes anyway, but I didn't necessarily *have* to buy the expensive stuff...

Anyway.. had my 4th gen (car in question) about 6 months now and have put over 10k miles on it already. Things in the near future planned are suspension (~$700), Y-pipe (~300), Tint (~200). That's another $1200 right there. And I'm in college, so these things come slowly. Thank god for birthday and holliday money.

Yea, tires and brakes are something mine needs to. I wish i would have noticed there were 3 different brand name tires on my car before i bought it, DOH!! I found some nice 215/55 R16's for only 110 a tire (Michelines) so that isn't a bad price.

$505 have installation and balancing.

Then after that i have to take it to get the brakes checked.

Just wondering, do those brakes shops like Midas or whatever charge less then a dealership, because brakes aren't covered in the extended warranty i have.

I dunno about the Michelins.. Check tirerack.com, you can probably find something better. I love my yokos, way sportier that most other tires for the price, but not the highest treadwear # (meaning they wont last as long).. I got a deal on em for $90/tire + installation + tax

Hmm, I haven't added it up in a while:

Intake: (PR CAI) $200
Y-pipe: (Cattman) $400
RT Cat: $70
Apexi WS Catback: $275
Ground Controls: $350
AGX's: $350
Monsoons: $700
Kumho Tires (after tires that came with the monsoons were slashed): $400
NOS kit, heater, blanket: $600
RSB: $125
STB's: $125
UDP: $170

Total: $3765

Plus, I'm now buying Z brakes...so that will be around another $500, I plan on getting a VI if that works out, another $500 and maybe one day a SuperCharger and new wheels. Geez.

However, I haven't paid for labor, as I do all the work myself, so I've convinced myself that in my own little twisted world, I'm "saving" money.

Ouch, your b@lls are bigger than mine. I broke down last summer and spent $4700 on a ring. :shrug: It's a GORGEOUS ring, but rims/tires/RSB/full exhaust/leather and a couple of other mods all could have been had for this cash However I may be a unich if I had bought all that and NOT a ring, so ....

Well, i will be driving this car quite a bit, plus the tires don't look to bad. I have the nicer version of rims ( that i have seen of maxima)and with the size 215/55 R16, they are faily large tires. Once i get some tint on my car, and wash it it will look nice. Plus once i can get ahold of my gf digital camera, i can get some pics on here, and then be like one of you guys I'll feel so proud

Yeah, the shops will probably be less but you might find a special
going on at the dealer to make it competitive. Disc brakes are
REALLY straightforward and simple to do. Why not give em a crack yourself and save a ton of $$. Get the Haynes manual and follow the steps since you've never done it before.

Oh god, im scared , never done anything like that. I think the most i have done to a car is check the oil, put gas in the car, and wash it

When i lightly touch the breaks, i hear this loud squeek. Very annoying and it hurts the ears if you are in a silent area. I don't know if the brakes are bad, worn down, or what.

Probably about $1,000 on mods. Don't forget how much you've saved doing your own repairs/maintenance (if you do). I personally have saved around $200 so far.
