What is the biggest size wheels you have on your max?
I am looking to put new wheels on the max. I currently have 225/40s on 18" by 7.5". The new wheel combo will be 255/35 18" x 9.5" (I am checking to see if it will fit) Has anyone else tried this combo? What is the biggest (widest) tire you have had on your ride?

The neat thing is this is the same OD as factory (approx 25") so the speedo will still be true. I have included a pic

Let me know what you think.

BTW does anyone want a good deal on my current wheels??? Have about 4000 miles on current rubber.

let me know. My e-mail is on my site at http://www.maximacar.com

Thanks

i think there would prob be rubbing in the front, i know when i cut my wheel completely with 235 it touches and rubs. might just have to bend in the fenders a bit or move some stuff out of the way.

Uncle Max tops everyone with the massive 265(10inch) in the rear and the 245(9 inch) in the front.

Why would you want to decrease your handling like that? Going with a wider wheel/tire on the rear on a FWD 60/40 car is not a very good idea. In fact, I know quite a number of autocrossers that use slightly narrower tires in the rear on their FWD cars.

A friend of mine has 17x9.5 with 245's on his 2000 max. No rubbing
at all, but he is at stock height. He's going up to 18" rims so I'm
going to see if they'll fit on my 97 max. Should be no problem from what I hear though.
