Hey...
I have a 97 SE 5 speed fully loaded (including ABS). Is this a rare car? Most of the loaded SE's around here are auto's and ABS is even rarer.

That's what I have. The are not too easy to find with the 5spd, so when my local dealer got me car in I purchased it on the spot for book value (it was everything I wanted) they can be found, but they sell very fast...

hell yeah it is...

That's what I wanted to get.. but I had to settle with cloth interior and no ABS and no climate control

but, I love the 5-speed , that was my first concern.

I have a fully loaded 97... Auto. But have seen only one fully loaded stick. I've seen a couple Fully loaded 2k1's in 5 speed, my dealer has 2 black ones.

I have a 99 SE 5 spd and I had a tough time finding it. Bought it new and it was the only one for 250 miles (at least when I looked b/c we did a dealer search).

Mine is a 99 fully loaded 5-speed
jeez, took me forever to find it, went to about 7 dealerships in they bay area, and only one of the dealerships had 2 of em. Got a spankin price on it though, had to kick the dealer all day, but got a $29k car for $22.5k + tax + other junk = $25k out the door.

knowing its rare makes me feel a little better about paying $15,000 for a 97 SE with all options, perfect condition, 67K... lot of money for a max.... but it was a rare find..

About 10% of Maximas are sticks. You've got to credit Nissan for still offering the stick even though marketing says to get rid of the option.

It took me 2 months to find a 5 speed 95/96 Maxima. I got lucky when I found my black SE with everything, but leather, climate control, and ABS for $16000 with 30K miles last year. I offered $14000 and we settled at $15000 (I would have paid $16000 due to it's immaculate condition).

Loaded

Mines got all the fixens too,It was almost impossible to find though I had my dealer going to different car auctions all over new England in the end it took over 2 months to find it ,I paid a pretty penny for it though it was $13,600 with 63,800 miles back in 9/9/99.I figure since 1 out of 10 maxima is a 5speed then most of those are base model GXE'S or unloaded SE'S so my guess is about 1 out of 50+ is a loaded 5dpd SE Maxima.

After I sold my 93 SE dark metallic blue, I was with no car for a month. Took me forever this car for a "book value" price. My main concern was of course 5 spd, and dark leather interior. No tan or light interior. Both of my max's, 92 se & 93 se were black interior cloth. So finally I saw this black/ black leather 5 spd, 99 SE with only 26k for $18.5 "GOOD THINGS COME FOR THOSE WHO WAIT"

Same problem here...my dealer had to swap cars with a dealer from L.A. to get it for me

loaded v. fully loaded

If we are talking about FULLY loaded here, that means every single available factory option is on the car. that includes the comfort group, this group, and that group, and finally Traction control. the catch, Nissan doesn't offer TC on 5-Sp. Duh!

As far as I know, I am yet to see a new 5-sp in those dealership lots here in Norcal. Even if they have 5-sp in stock, I bet they go of the door faster than getting a double double at In And Out. They are RARE animals.

shoot, I still can't find a 5-sp AE in my area. All those fully loaded AEs I have seen so far are automatics with Z edition.

That's what I've got. I didn't want it, though... I went to buy a 5 spd GXE, but the only 5 spd they had at the first (and only) dealership I went to was loaded. They made me a hella good deal though, I bought it on the last day of the last month of the last year (buying tip: end of month and end of year are the best times to buy cars because dealerships have quotas and sales incentives to meet and they really want to move them). I'd actually prefer not to have leather since my *** freezes in the winter, but what can you do...

I have a 96 SE 5-speed that i bought used in 99 for 16000, had only 33k on it. I graduated high school, my parents took me to the nissan dealership, told me i could have any used maxima on the lot, and there she was sitting there. Low miles, 5-speed transmission, leather, SE package, and the NO BOSE system (wanted it to upgrade-easier). It was perfect found it on a tuesday and bought it on a wed.

Damn are they rare!

It took me FOREVER just to find my 97 SE 5-speed with ABS. The ABS was the kicker, but I drive in crappy weather so it was important. Then some moron crashes into me and totals it 367 miles later. So the search continued. Now I have a 99 SE 5-speed with EVERY option except the cd changer. I have everthing else, BOSE, Heated Leather, Climate Control, Side Air-bags...blah blah. Couldnt believe I found it. The car had 23k miles on it, and out the door from the dealer I paid $21,000!!

Here is where it gets funny, my dad drove me down to the dealership to pick it up. It was sitting out front, all clean and pretty. There was some guy a couple years older than me, (probably around 25) DROOLING over it! After I got my keys and walked towards it he was like.. WOW! a black on black SE ABS 5-speed with leather!!!! I said yup, and unlocked the doors with the remote. The poor guy looked heart-broken. He asked me if I had just bought it, I said "yeah I have been looking all over!" Then he offerd to buy it off me for $23k!! I said no way am I letting this rare bird go! Then I wished him luck and drove away!

95 SE fully loaded here. Well we were missing the Bose changer and convients net. $320 took care of that. When we were shopping this was the only 5 speed we could find. So... We bought it...

Leather, heated seats, Bose stereo, Moon roof, auto climate control, etc...

Wait... I don't have the engine block heater, or Vlsd.

That actually makes me feel VERY good. I got it used in June 2000 by the way. I have a 97 SE 5 speed stick, with leather, power and heated seats/mirrors, automatic climate, bose CD player, keyless entry/alarm, sunroof, ABS, homelink transmission. Hmm, I think the only factory option my car did not come with besides auto transmission was the CD changer, gold emblums and wood dash. I dont even think the latter 2 were options on the SE. For me, I think that this car was indeed a pretty rare find, and it was even in the color I wanted. Definately think this was a perfect car for me. The SE rims, white gauges, spoiler, fogs and body color trim for the SE completed the picture.

Speaking of rarity..

try finding a loaded Infiniti I30 touring with 5 speed. Took me a good while to find mine, black with black leather, and every possible option (hehe, it's nice to have LSD).

Took me awhile

I had trouble finding one. I finally found a 98 a dealer jsut got in trade. It was a 98 white w black fully loaded. The dealer wouldnt budge on its high price. Within one day it was gone. =(
SO I continued to look for a couple weeks. Thats when I found my 97. They wouldnt move too much on the price either. I finally just took it after a couple hours. I am pretty happy with it. It was a little older and more miles than I really wanted though.
I had also previously decided I only wanted to get one thru a dealer. This also boosted my cost.

Found mine on autotrader up by Chicago me and my Dad were the first ppl to call about it and the seller even turned down some guy who said he would pay cash ($9500) just so he could sell to us. Only had 68,000 on it in late March and now it's got 71,000.
