Infinity Service

Took the wife's I30 to the dealer due to the red brake idiot
light staying on. Turned out to be low on brake fluid (my bad for
not checking it). The I30 is a 99 with 28K around town miles.
The service guy was trying to tell me that the brakes PROBABLY should be replaced! (no he didn't inspect they before he said this).
I have had 2 maxima's now, traded the first one in a 65K, my current
max has 57K miles, NIETHER of these cars came close to needing brakes.
I asked if they checked the system for leaks and he said the did so by 'pressurizing' the system and testing for loss of pressure.I have never needed to add any brake fluid to either of my maxes.
Is this guy blowing smoke?
This is my second bad expierence with infinity service.
WTF, replace the brakes at 28K, this is NOT a POS American car!

I figured your stock brakes would hold up well. I am the second owner of my 98 with about 73.7K miles on it and the stock brakes. Never had any need to replace them yet.

45K on my 99 and brakes are about 2/3 down now. The fluid level does drop over time as your pads ware to compensate for the additional piston travel. Perfectly normal. I doubt your car needs new pads, but check them yourself once you get the car back.
