evap CVCV works ok but still gets CEL
I got "Evap Control System" (07-05) and "Evap Canister Control Valve" on another error code (09-03). Been like this for over a year but the wife is bugging me.I have read a lot of the archives and they have been very helpful, especially Dan. I took down the canister on our 96 GLE and removed the valve. It was a little stuck so I did wd-40 and blew it out as well as worked it up and down a bit. I energized with 12v and it seems to work fine. It also doesn't leak when closed.
I cleared the codes after but they came right back.
I plugged the valve into the harness and powered up the car. Should this valve operate at any particular time? I never see it move. (this is while it was out of the canister).
I suppose I should check for a short from the ECU to make sure I am getting a signal. Any other suggestions?

I had someone pull the codes and I got a P0446 which I understand is definitly the CVCV. I pulled the P0446 out of the archive search also.
