Man youre scaring me. I've heard that if this happens on the road, NEVER look in your mirrors. Turn them away! But really we all live among other spirits!!!!!!!!!

haha you guys are creepy - chill man, theres always a reason for sounds (especially in your car). spirits would be on other planes of reality . for example, my muffler hanger has a little **** that was banging against the hook at the bottom of the car. there, plain and simple

get this, my rear driver window rolled down by itself when I was inside the car. Couldnt be someone using the remote since it was in the ignition and it wasnt me since I wasnt even touching the controls and nobody was sitting back there

I can explain it

I can explain why your car makes these noises and weird stuff happens. See back in the fall of 1994 a guy named Jake O'maley was working on designing a new generation of maximas for the following year. He would work late into the nights sometimes not gettig any sleep for 3 or 4 days. He would always do his work down on the factory floor next to the metal molding machines. One night, after everyone left, he was attempting to give the 1995 maximas a more rounded shape. He finally got a design he liked and put the cars into production, however, part of his lab coat got stuck in the machine and his skin was torn from his body and sent through the production line. The next day when the workers returned they found 100 1995 maximas that Jake O'maley had designed, all colored candy appled red. Little did the workers know that this was actually his blood smeared all over the cars. The president of nissan figured the red maximas wouldn't sell, so he ordered the workers to paint them various colors and distribute them to the public. Over the years 1995 - 1999 parts of Jake O'maley have been put into all 4th gen maximas. However, in 1999 the nissan factory burnt down and they made a new one. However, there is a way to see if you have Jake O'maley body parts in your car. Right around dusk when you switch on your headlights look at your clock. If the numbers get dimmer after you turn on your headlights, it means that Jake O'maley is hunting your car. Just remember this story when your traveling down that desolate road late at night by yourself. It is said that if the conditions are right and you look in your rear view mirror, you will see his skinless body sitting in your back seat!!

Good Job Ian. Here's one for everyone.....back in 98, traveling from Arizona to Rhode Island on good ole Interstate 40, I had clocked up some heavy miles and time...I did make this trip in 42 hours, alone. Somehere in the Texas Panhandle past Amarillo, it's like 3:00 AM and I'm doing OK. Suddenly I hear Maxies passenger door open and close and I looked but nothing was there. However, for at least an hour I kept seeing someone sitting in the seat just out of the corner of my eye...but every time when I turned to look there was no one there. I finally stopped at a truck stop, I new I was tired, and figured my tired mind was playing tricks on me.....time to get off the road. I
was so sleepy I asked a couple of truckers if I was really out of the car standing there talking with them. They said I wasn't dreaming that I had stopped and gotton out of the car. With that said I reclined Maxies seat and got a couple hours sleep. Watch that sleepy driver falling asleep at the wheel stuff.

The tapping sound is EASY to solve. It was probably the metal portion of your rear seatbelt buckle (the part that is attached the retracting portion of the belt) tapping against that little plastic "nipple" on the belt nearer to the seat bottom. Look and you will see what I mean. It happens in my car all the time and it really really annoying.

whats also annoying is the front pass. seatbelt when the bucky is all bunched up and rattles on the plastic thing. that also causes the tapping sound too.

The only "nipple" on my belt could be on the back seat!!!

Children on the front seat cause accidents.
Accidents on the back seat cause children.

I'll guess it just took the motor vehicle department years to catch up to your friend. Probably he didn't go in until they held his registration until unpaid tickets were resolved!

took a look at my seatbelts today....the rear seatbelt
is tight up against the backseat...it wont budge unless i
touch it...even if it was moving it would jus hit my
seat and not make any noise
and the car doesnt shake enough to make the
front seatbelt move...and i was on a smoooth road
hmmmm wonder what it can be

This post is tight...

I hate it when you are on a deserted road and the road is smooth but it makes an eerie noise when you drive over it. Do you ever wonder if someone is riding in the back of your car at night when you think you are alone? What if you walk by your car at night in the garage, and you see your car has a family in it with pale faces? Having fun driving tonight whoever has to drive tonight...

Yeah. That used to happen a lot on my old Mazda 626. It is annoying and it definetly does sound weird (and kind of freaky in the middle of the night when you're not expecting it). There's no way to really fix the problem. And, well, if it turns out that that's NOT the problem then you should lower your rear window next time. Whatever's out there obviously wants to come in
