First Post - First Kills (long)

Just bought a 97 SE 5spd a few months ago and decided to make my first post after a couple kills. (Early 90's Mustang GT and a fellow 3rd gen Max)

First the Stang. I pulled up behind him at a light but could not get next to him. I knew he would race because he was driving in and out of traffic. As soon as the light turned his car roared (definitely aftermarket exhaust). I immediately gunned it and switched to the lane next to him. He was 1 car ahead from start and stayed that way through first gear. As I was coming up on 6k+ RPM I felt that when I went to second I would lose him. Chirp! Second caught and made a sweet sound! To my amazement I started pulling. You could still hear his thunderous exhaust and he was pulling hard. About half a car behind now and third is about to come. Again I thought I would lose him in third.
Hit third and began to pull, passed him and got 1 car on him around ~80-85 then had to slow down. It felt great!! Never thought I could do it but beating a Mustang was awesome!

Second, the fellow 3rd gen. I just got out of the store and was going along side a Honda S2000. He wasn't racing and I wouldn't dare! But out of the blue a 3rd gen Max comes flying up on my right side. I was in 3rd going around 50. He starts to pass and I punch it keeping it in third. I pull on him slowly and around 75 I have 1/2 car and still pulling before I have to slow for traffic. Here's the catch.
I just bought 12 bags of 30 lb. mulch for my yard and it's sitting in the trunk and back seat. With an extra 360 lb. this car still pulled hard!! It doesn’t seem like it's that fast because it's not too loud but the max is just plain incredible.

Glad I bought this car and glad to be a part of the Maxima.org Forum!

My next post will be much shorter!!

What a good first post... most of the ones I've seen recently have been so stupid and easily answered via the Search function. But that was a good post, it wasn't that long yet precise enough. Good kills.
