Useless? That is incorrect. When you have the security system set for passive arming and you are working on the car or loading/unloading stuff from it, you need the valet switch to keep it from setting itself off.
That is for the common person...
I never gave it (Passive arming) to my old customers... They ALWAYS came back complaining about how inconvenient it was... making me take it off.
The new DEI alarms have a new way to set valet mode... by using the door and remote...
I don't have the switch cuz I guess if anything did go wrong I know where everything is and how to fix it... I've never had to do it though...
