I was wondering when those of you who changed your stock shocks/struts. When do you consider them to go bad? I have 40K miles and I'm finally going with the Eibachs and Tokicos. I was just wondering if my stock suspension components are still considered in good shape after 40K miles of driving around suburbia.

springs should still be good

Springs usually don't go bad, especially with only 40k. Shocks/struts probably have some life left too. Only you can tell if you have bad suspension components. If your shocks/struts were well worn or blown you would be able to tell. I upgraded my 98's springs and shocks when it had 20k, so I can't comment on the longevity of the OEM parts. I would hope that they would last longer than my Tokicos. I only got about 10k miles out of the Toks.

They should be fine

Yer springs should almost never go...as for your shocks(struts) .. theyre fine up to like 50-60k for most ppl. Mine were ok until i put them with the eibachs, they died after like 500 miles. heh
