Cleaned my throttle body.....

I cleaned my throttle body last night and the car is smoother, quieter, rpm stabler, and it seems a little quicker....

Well worth it for a 5min. job.....

I used a glove and a terry cloth towel.....and carb cleaner....

all i did was put some gloves on then sprayed some carb cleaner on the towel....then wipe as much as you can....the black stuff...it may spread so i just took a dry part of the cloth and wiped it dry and clean....

The use of CARB cleaner will rub off your inner intake outer layer. You are supposed to use Throttle Body Cleaner (aka TB Cleaner).

I'm not sure but maybe there's a finish on the inside of the TB that is supposed to be kinda like a polish; to keep build ups of carbon from occuring. I would guess then that the TB cleaner isn't as chemically harsh as carb cleaner. Again, I'm just talking out of my I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just keep an eye on it if it'll make you feel better.

Instructions:

http://www.motorvate.ca/
Engine -> Throttle Body clean

Also, most Carb cleaners say on the back: Do not use with Fuel Injection. Go to Kmart and get the Valvoline Synthetic Throttle Body/Carb cleaner. It's $3 and has a nice angled spray nozzle.
