I think he's refering to the purge valve. It sticks and throws the CEL light, I can't remember the exact codes it throws but it's a weird one because it points to many different areas of the evap system. Some guys on here have actually fixed that valve by taking it apart and lubbing it up. WD-40 works wonders.
BTW - That valve is located behind the left rear wheel.

Sorry Chad, I've never had to do this myself. Take a look under your left rear wheel, you will see the canister and some plumbing. Follow the electrical connectors and I'm sure you'll find the valve it plugs into. Take it out, test it on a bench using 12vdc. It should click open and closed. I read a thread on here a while back where a member took the valve out and was able to get it working again by cleaning it up with WD-40. Do a search on "Purge Valve" and see what you come up with.
On another note, My buddy has an I30 that used to throw the evap code every few days. We figured it was the valve as well. We cleaned the throttle body one day and the evap code went away. There is a vacuume orifice (sp??) in there related to that purge valve. If that orifice is plugged with varnish and gum, it can't bleed the pressure off the evap system. It worked for him, you may try that route as well. Might save you some time and a few bucks.
