What is the difference between the 95' Maxima and the Infinity J30?
If you compare the two side by side, it looks like both have the same size and shape doors. The dimensions look the same, besides some minor little variations in wheelbase, track (FR & RR), and height (due to suspension). Sure the engine can be different too. But one wonders, did I just by a variation of a J30?? Of course to save mone, Nissan would have carried over parts from the J30 onto the Maxima (i.e. doors). So, I ask again, what is the real difference??

Primarily luxury interior trim, different nose, rear, and curb weight. I30 is heavier. Otherwise, parts are shared between the two from the drivetrain down to the last fastener.

just to make sure...you're definitely talking about the J30 and not the i30, right? the maxima and the i30 are the same car.(althought i am not familiar enough with inifiniti to know if there was in fact an i30 in 1995)
if you are talking about the J30 then i have no input because i know nothing about it :-)

There was no I30 in 95.
The J30 is not similar to a Maxima at all. The biggest difference being the rear wheel drive and the 220hp VG30DE engine from the Z32 300ZX. That said, the J30 is a very nice car inside. It handles great and makes cool "vroom vroom" noises... but it's much slower than a 4th gen Max (or I30). The J30 has been tested in the low 9 second range for 0-60mph.
