well, today was a screwed up day for me to say the least. going home from school, i notice that my steering wheel was forcing over to the right. i pull over and i have a flat in the front right tire. ok. fine. i went to pop the trunk from the remote, and it didn't work. i tried and tried again. the only response that i got from the trunk was a clicking sound. damn. this sucks. i put the key in and open the trunk. i take my donut out, and i try to get my jack out. i can't. there was a hex nut on there. this sucks, because i had just taken all of my tools out of my trunk like 3 days prior to this. fine. i call my bro, and ask him to come down and help me out(he has a 96 max, and i have a 97). i change the flat and head down to the local NTB. my question to all of you is
1.) can a full-sized spare fit in the wheel well in the trunk of a 97 maxima?
2.) does anyone know how to fix the problem i am having with my trunk latch not popping?

I had the same problem as u with the trunk before. There is a Vallet switch somewhere around where the trunk lide connects to the car. I think it is right below the place it connects with the car. Its a little lever just flip it up.
