Where/how?! I have wanted to do this for a long time so I can use those HP formulas and also to use the G-Tech to get my HP. How does one weigh his/her car?! Thanks.

so i can put a bathroom scale under one tire and it'll calculate my weight?...or would it be more effective to put one scale under each tire then add up all 4?

ok, i went out and tried it with one...all four of my cars weighed in at 300 pounds...damn, they're really light...so i'm guessing my pathfinder with 240 horses will beat out my max since they both weigh the same...right?

the weight of a maxima is supposed to be 3001 pounds and since GXE is the lightest since it has the least stuff, 3060 is the closest we'll ever get stock minus books....i would have thought the spare tire was weighed in with the car....oh well, i guess u have about 60 pounds worth of books and a few other things....

my car wit abs and all is gonna run around the 3100 range i bet...

O.k., I am in S.D. though. How do I do this? Do I just look up 'truck scales' in the yellow pages? That's where I'm confused. Is there a cost to do this? I'd really like to weigh my car so I appreciate you posting this. Thanks.

Kinda interesting...every one (including myself) always makes a point of how much lighter GXE's are than SE's and GLE's.

I weighed my 99 SE at the track a few weeks back without a spare and a quarter tank of gas: 3080lbs.

Pretty darn close.

I weighed my car in its street form and it weighed in at 3150. I had my sub (40lbs), spare, jack, 3/4 tank of gas, and usual misc. items with me so I'm curious to see how much my car weighs with everything out.

Uh, weigh all the misc. items and subtract them from 3150?

That's the easy way, but I may even try pulling the passenger seat for one time out to the track For the most part I'm content with the weight of my car though since something has to give for everyday driving. The sub is definitely worth it for only 40lbs., and my dynamat helps things despite the extra weight.

Well, I finally got around to weighing my '96 GLE! I opened the phone book and starting calling around. I called dumps, moving companies, recyling centers, etc. The moving co.s wanted $7 and some recycling places either wanted $ or just wouldn't do it. I called one recycling center and they asked 'Is it for the DMV'? When I said 'No (not even knowing what he meant),I just want to know my weight', he said 'Sure, come on down'. So I did. The digital scale never settled. It was on 3060 or 3070 so I'll call it 3065. That was with half a tank of gas. So why does my GLE weigh as much as bussmax's GXE you ask? That's easy. I carry no spare, no jack, and I have a few other 'weight reduction' secrets.

hahaha guess what? i went back to that spot and weighed my g/f's 94 accord. turns out her car only weighed 3060lbs!! we asked the tech there how can both are cars weigh exactly the same weight. and he said the scale reads 3060 as the lowest possible weight....sooo...my car weighs less than 3060...

Oh great. Do you think that could have happened to me? Like I said, it kept going from 3060 to 3070, back and forth. And the car before me was a little pickup dropping off some stuff so they had to be able to weigh what he dropped off. So I hope not. Perhaps because your place is made for big trucks? Try a recycling place buss.

How much weight does fuel add?

That raises an interesting question:
How much does that 17.5 gallons of fuel
(*real* capacity, not the claimed 18.5)
weigh? Anyone whose recently taken
Physics courses?

Dude, try looking back a mere ~5 posts ago. To quote myself:

"5.8 to 6.5 lb per gallon:

I'm wondering what did Don Cooper do to his GXE to get it down to 2875 lbs (or something like that)?

my max is on a diet!!

alright this thread has made me finally make use of my resources. i have been meaning to weigh my car for the longest time and finally went. my father in-law runs a GP lumber yard and has scales for his trucks so i took the liberty and pulled my car up onto the scales.

here is the list of options and condition of the car...
-1996 SE
-manual tranny
-cloth tan interior
-sunroof
-non-bose
-non-ABS
-00/01 16in. SE 5-spoke wheels
-kuhmo tires
-HAI
-FSTB
-empty trunk (spare & jack in tact)
-1/4 tank gas (approx. 30lbs.)
-no one inside the car

the scale read 2990. after talking with father in-law he said the scale rounds to 10 pounds. so the car weighs somewhere in the near vacinity of 2990. just thought i would share. seems like my maxima is on a diet!! and yes these scales are very accurate.
