Wheel Weight and Performance..Please Help

I know this has probably been posted alot. But I really need to know this because I'm goin to a wheel place on monday. How bad does the weight and size of your wheels effect your acceleration? Is it like kids in civics will now pass you or very slight difference only you will notice. I was lookin at 18" in chrome, but the more I think of it, If its goin to affect my acceleration alot then I might want a light weight 17. Please help...Thanks

It is a slight difference, kids in Civics will not pass you unless they could before, but when racing another Maxima you will see the difference. But since you're only going with 18", there shouldn't be too big of a difference. And keep in mind the only difference will be off-the-line, once you're rolling it's all the same.

Thanks for the help. I feel better now. I think I'm gonna go with the 18's.

im going with oem 17's which are kinda ***-heavy for 17's.
im not dragging anyone on the street anymore (unless i have to)
ull lose off the line acceleration and theres no way to beat that if your rims and tires are heavy- but yeah from rolling ull be ok. (rationalizing for myself as i sometimes do)

My advice, get your 18s, but then save up for a good NOS kit for those "tempermental" Civics. Post some pics back here of your new rims.
