Well, like i said b4 maxima has too many lights, so this is what i did

Peronsally, i think that the maxima has too many lights up front. after the bumper lens' the fogs seem a bit much. However i really like fogs(in the mail) and think it balances out the front end so then that leaves me the bumper lens'. So i decided to get rid of those...sorta. Recently i just got the clear bumper lens' and in all honesty i thought they were too bright, not light emitting wise but their texture so i thought why not just get rid of them altogether.

Sooooo... I went to autodynamic.com and bought me a can of smoke tail lens spray and sprayed it on to my new bumper lens'. All i can say is wow! It look so much cleaner, although it does look a little unbalanced being that i dont have fogs in but it looks good still.

PICS

Anyway here are the pics: warning not dail up friendly.

BTW just in car you didn't know... VERY ILLEGAL!!!

looks good...u should try the "A.E. Style" headlights, by opening the headlights up and spraying them black, making them look like the AE headlights, it will look even better on ur car

That looks excellent. Awesome job. I doubt it'd look good on any color other than black, though (although I'm sure at least one or two people will insist that it does ).

As a side note, probably not illegal if you can see the turn signals.

yeah, i dont really see why it would be illegal, althought the relfector on the side has lost some of it refraction ability, but you cant even tell a light is there(only non-maxima owners, i.e. cops) unless i blink. plus those corner lamps look like they do something so...

Looks nice. Just curious, but why didnt you just spray your stock bumper lense like that and refrain from buying the clears?

you know, i thought of that too, but my intial idea was to put a light coat on so as to make them partly visible, but that looked only "ok" so i sprayed on one more coat, it looks, well you see the pics.

As a side note i got the lens' for free so i im not loseing anything. If anyone else were to do this using amber would work fine too, in fact if any of you guys are in the socal aera and want to do this, just give me a few bucks and ill spray it for ya, however dark u want it.

Smoked lenses

I did it a long time ago about 4 months brfore.
I also smoke tinted the ugly chrome altezza tails with the same thing(inner tails shaved.)
I personally think it looks way better than the black chrome altezzas custom maxima sells. Althogh my Honda friends say take it to garbage and burn it....
Well, I don't have a digital camera, but My front looks like yours and my tails look better than the black chrome altezzas.

You used the VHT Nightshade too, right? That's what I used.

I did that before on my car when I had my amber lenses and couldn't stand waiting for months for my diamond cut clears to get here from custommaxima. I used tint film, same stuff you use for window tint and in the daytime, the blinker was very hard to see.. but at night it was fine. Looked kind of stupid on my car though, but it looks good on yours

Take a couple of pics of your smoked Altezzas and have someone scan them digitally. Or maybe a freind has a digital camera. Then post them to the site for us. I'd also suggest posting to a new thread so that owners that were thinking of this mod will be able to see the fruits of your labor.

They illegal

Because theres no reflective amber lens right. But then the clears alone are illegal right. Or am I wrong. I really doubt youll get bothered very much anyway. My tails have been like that for long time now, and I think the tails are more important to be visible than the front(unless your headlights are off or something stupid).

that looks tight.

I'd do it, too, except I dunno how that would look on a green Max. Anybody else notice this? It seems like this would only really match a black Maxima.

I was thinking i wanted to get rid of the front turn signals myself. But i was thinking of having the turn signals taken out, fill in the holes, and reroute the lights to the corner or clearance lights. But then i thought urethane bumper and bondo really don't work well and the cost of respraying my bumper and etc...not worth the effort you know? I like my diamond cuts anyway

Yeah, i think black is the only color you can do this too, maybe some of the other dark colors ,but black is defintly best for this project.

As for smokeing anything else i dont think im gonna do that, i think it will look perfect(to me anyway) once i get my fogs in.

it will be a little dimmer and i emphasize little. If u wanted to do it, test it on ur orange ones with the hyper whites. Light output is almost the same, the only thing that really loses its function is the reflector(you need one in front by law) but it works enough at night

Nice very nice. I have always wondered why more black cars don't do that. It's the first thing I would do if I had a black or dark car. Just like clear lights look awesome on a white car, that looks awesome on your black car. Good job.

Those blacked out corner lights look awesome!

Also, I got curious, you encouraged the creative part of me to come out, I downloaded your image and photoshopped it a bit. Hope you don't mind. I wanted to see what your car would like like if we got rid of the centerline in the grille, so the Nissan Hamburger is just standing in the middle of blackness, so to speak, like this,

I think that would be the ultimate!
