Engine Check Light

Okay guys (and gals)... I need a bit if help here...
I was on a road trip a while back. Unfortunately Premium Unleaded was unavailable, and I had little choice but to fill my tank partially with 89 octane. It must of set of my knock sensor. I checked the unit and got the diagnostic code.
Also, my idle is inconsistent. Either is is above 1,100 or falls below 500 to the point of stall. I've checked the throttle cable and it seems fine.
The Engine check light shows the diagnostic code of 4 long and 3 quick and 3 long and 4 quick blinks (These indicate a knock sensor and throttle position problems)
If you have any tips to fix this before I end up going to a dealer, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

- page 6-15,16 for Knock Sensor
- page 6-8,9 for Throttle Position Sensor
Haynes says that you must remove the upper and lower intake manifold in order to replace the Knock Sensor. After looking at my engine, I think that's not necessary. If you have good dexterity and a 1/4-inch rachet wrench, I think you can get it out in two minutes.
