I just purchased a '96 GLE and I am pumped. Unfortunately, the previous owner did not have the user manual with the car. Does anyone know where I can get the user manual as well as maintenance schedule? Thanks in advance for your help.

 

A trip to your local Nissan dealer (ask for parts dept) will cure your manual blues (though you may have to order it and come back later when they get it).

 

Perhaps you mean Owner's Manual, not user manual.

The Nissan Owner’s Manual has valuable model-specific details on the day-to-day use and care of your car, as well as recommended maintenance intervals. If you’ve lost or misplaced your manual, just call 1-800-247-5321 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. eastern time, Monday through Friday. There is no charge for 1999, 1998 or 1997 manuals, however, there is a $12 charge for owners manuals prior to the 1997 models.

Option 1) Pay the $12 for a '96 Owner's Manual.

Option 2) Have a momentary memory lapse, and tell Nissan you have a '97 GLE. They won't care, and neither will you. The mechanical aspects of the cars are almost identical, and the Owner's Manuals are too.
