Raced an NSX, sort of bad ending

Alright, coming back from returning prom tux, and I'm with 4 of my friends in the Max. I spot a black NSX behind me. He pulls out from the left and in front of me. I can't stand and do nothing. So we get neck to neck and it turns out that its a hot chick in the car. *reminder: 5 guys in the car* So we're all oooing and what not, and I decide to cut her off. So I speed up and the cut was successful, little did I know that I was fast approaching a stopped van at the light. Slam on brakes, tires screech and I hit the van at probably 10-15 MPH. Everyone was fine, the car needs a new license plate, the van had a 1cm scratch but it was fine. I made a total fool of myself in front of my friends. Cuz all of them have crappy cars and suck at driving. I really wasn't showing off, I was just trying to have some fun. I'd probably do the same if I was alone in the car. I wish I shifted to 1 or 2 (auto) to help me stop. So it really wasn't much of a race, sorry to have fooled you with the title. I realized I need tires. Peace out.

Glad to hear you're ok elias. We all play, but always leave yourself an out I hope all the car needs is a new plate.

The title reminds me of a time I raced a Corvette.. it had a bad ending too.. at least no one was hurt though that would have been a worse ending in your story

I tried to do an extensive check on the bumper and the radiator. I'd sure appreciate one of the guys looking at it. I just need to redeem myself for my friends. I don't want them to think I'm a bad driver. I know most the guys in Austin are pretty good drivers, but you sometimes can't help yourself from doing cool stuff. Do any of your friends think you're a bad driver?

me? well, I couldn't answer that. Considering I cut off an undercover cop on the highway, word got around school- by that time I was doing 120 in a 60 and cut him off. Really only doin 85, but, since there was no wreck, I think they all consider me an alright driver.

Thanks Matt and Charlie for the concern. I'll try not to be as spasmatic when it comes to "having fun."

If you're gonna race, use your head and make sure there is no one around to suffer the results from your decision other than your car and NSX. Plus with 4 guys in the car? Average male is 150-160lbs, x 5 racing an NSX?

This defies logic. I bet the hot chick thought you were a dumb*** as well.

Yes yes.... Keep the flames coming. Its almost like an intervention against being a dumba$$ when it comes to racing. Trust me, I feel like a grade AA dumba$$. I'll try to wipe away the tears and take the comments as constructive criticism.

i bet a lot of us here could take an NSX, depending on the drivers of course, and you gotta be modded, and they cant be... a few conditions but definitely doable. my friend runs 9.6s in teh 1/8th in his. just thought id throw that in there.

Yes, constructive criticism. If you backed off, you would have save whatever your deductible is plus face in front of your friends and that extremely hot chick. I would much rather follow her side by side and tried tapping that @$$ when she hits a stop light.

You, your friends, and your poor Max would have all probably benefited from that decision.

When I street race after 3AM pretty much near where I live. I don't race without streets being blocked off with other friend's cars. And the race doesn't last very long or go very far (mainly because of cops cracking down). I would hate to be surprised by a minivan or truck pulling in front of me while I'm going 95. That would suck.

Why in the world did you cut her off in the first place? And do you know how silly it looks to a lady in a NSK to have 4 guys gawking at her?

Yah i gotta agree. that was a boner thing to do. why would you want to cut off a chick? if i was in that nsx i woulda laughed..... hard. I feel bad u got in an accident, but it sound like u were hot ******* a bit. maybe you should check out the big brakes deal. lol. but if u got in an accident cuz you decided to cut someone off, youd get in trouble. so what did u say to the cops?

Yeah, I wasn't thinking clearly. That usually happens when I have a full house in my car. No cops though, the whole thing was solved within 3 minutes. It was sunday a hot sunday afternoon, and the guy was pretty nice about it. As for the girl, I would have probably laughed too. I need to learn to think more And I'm very thankful that I, my friends, the people in the other car, and my MAX were not extensively harmed.

I guess she had the last laugh. Didn't you feel embarrassed when she drove past you and saw u rear end some dude?

I think I read somewhere that cutting off hot chicks in nice cars wasn't a really a good way to win brownie points. Maybe if you just hung with her for a lil while side by side and playfully flirted she would have eventually gone home and told her bf or husband how she ran into some cute lil boys in a maxima on her way home. But because of your decision she most likely said something like..."omg on my way home there was this car full of these immature boys that eventually crashed their car cause they wanted to race me or something. And get this they were in a maxima, HAHA, Morons!"

Trust me I thought of all that. I didn't really look to see the face on the girl. You kinda get zoned out when an accident happens. Everything that happened was really dumb on my part. But I'm thankful.
