OK I need some opinions: This is what I planned on doing with my Max

Hopefully after this friday, I'll have my max back, good as new. For those of you who don't know, my car was in an accident with a lightpole (I posted this on the NE forum). It gave me time to categorize everything that I want to do, broken down into 4 groups.

First Mods (calling for parts as soon as I get my baby back):

Cattman Cold Air Intake and Y-Pipe
Stillen Exhaust

Second group of Mods (probably a month or so after):

35% Window Tint
20th AE Manual Shift ****
Red/Clear Tails
Polarg M14s for the Corner Lamps (I also want to do the cornerlight amplification mod)
Polarg M9s for Front and Rear Turn Signals
Polarg M4s for the Front and Rear side markers, as well as the Door Courtesy Lights
PIAA XTreme White Dome Light
PIAA XTreme White Headlights
PIAA XTreme H3 Foglights (I also want to do the foglight mod with this)

Third group of Mods (By beginning of Fall):

Front Strut Tower Brace
Rear Strut Tower Brace
Rear Sway Bar

Last group of Mods (Summer 2003):

Moda R6 18x8 Wheels
Dunlop SP Sport 8000 Ultra-High Performance Tires (Had these on my SHO, they were nice)
Progress Springs
KYB AGX Struts

That about does it. I am open to anyone's opinions on what I listed here. I am also open to extra mods that I can possibly do that could help me out with this setup I just listed.

Thanks for your time....

Sounds good. Also sounds expensive but it looks like you've got it all there.

good list, but a few suggestions

1. the piaa extreme white headlights and foglights probably wont match. the foglights are a blueish white while the headlights are just gonna be whitish yellow.

2. why not get rims and suspension first? i mean i understand if you are going for performance first, but your maxima is already pretty fast, compared to crappy cars like civics, but you can make it look a lot nicer and not handle like a boat if you do rims/suspension first

good luck

I agree, I have a 98 5spd and I was also debating on what mods I should do 1st. I recommend doing handling (ie. agx/progress/ftsb/rsb) and rims/tires first. It'll make the max look even better and like spiff said it won't handle like a boat. I bought a ftsb for cheap and it help my turns alot. Its cheap and easy to do.

The main reason why I'm going in the order I planned out is purely financial....the wheels/tires/suspension will be the most expensive, so I wanna wait, pay off some of my debt, and then buy all that stuff (the next summer basically). And as for the HIDs vs. PIAAs, which one is more expensive? I say the HIDS hands down. Plus I don't like the idea of losing my high beams.

Thanks so far for the input...remember, the list is subject to change...

I bought some xenon gas bulbs which said HID on them also for 20 shipped on ebay. might wanna check it out. I had them for over a month and a half. It looks really good, has a pretty blue tint to it and its bright.

I would get the FSTB first and maybe the RSB to. For very low cost these will make a noticable improvement in handling.

Yeah, I definitely want some sort of HID look to my heads and fogs, without paying mass amounts of money, and then realizing that I lose my high beams (which I use religiously ). I could always buy a set along with the PIAAs, and see which ones do me better, thanks for the input!

As far as the FSTB, RSTB, RSB, That could also be a possibility. As much as this is way planned out, I may also buy parts ahead of time as well. The first few groups of mods I plan on doing over the course of this summer, and the wheels / suspension is going to have to wait until next summer. I just hope I don't get into another accident!!!

I would say go with the suspension first. It is the Maximas weakest link by far. FSTB & RSB, then springs/struts. Wheels will help you but they are so expensive you can buy them later. RSTB will help but is not really a cost-efficient modification so hold off until you have the money to waste... I mean spend.

This may be off the subject a little, does anyone jnow how to make a hybrid intake or where i can get one. Is this an expensive mod compare to other intakes cuz I've got most for my suspension and lights done so I want some performance upgrades.
