300zx shifter switch

Hi i just got a 98 maxima se 5 speed several days ago. Before i got this car i was totally in love with the 300zx, but being 18 I absolutely could not afford the insurace for that car. I really like the way the shifter lookes in those cars and the maxima's shifter is a little long (in my opinion) so i was wondering if anybody has attemped a switch with a 300zx.

Thanks

You have a couple of options.
1) Cut the stock shifter and get a MOMO or similar ****, because your stock one will no longer fit. But the MOMO itself may be enough for what you want, since it has a deeper hole and will sit slightly lower on the shift rod.
2) Get an aftermarket short throw shifter. This probably wont help the look too much, but my Pacesetter short throw shifter is slightly shorter than stock. Of course, you can cut an aftermarket shifter too. Your stock **** will fit on an aftermarket shifter.

Try a search for more info.
