have a arctic white 95 maxima (bone stock, no mods at all), i was wondering what the top speed is supposed to be, i top out at 130, but i'm afraid to turn off overdrive fearing that i would fry my engine...
what are your top speeds

 

Some here hit the 145 area but it is tought to get past that usually.

keep OD off until you get close to redlining 3rd gear, then engage 4th gear, and you should have some acceleration power left...after about 130, gaining speed gets a little harder

 

my speedometer only reads up to 140, and i have an auto so i 145 sounds a little far fetched to me...my friend has a 02 ws6 trans am and he has only gone 150 so it makes 145 seem even more impossible to me, but thats just me, i dont know

 

aftre 130 or so it trickles up there. I have a 5 speed and have buried the speedo at 140 with a lot of road infront of me. Its possible but slow... Your buddies Trans Am should approach 160 if he kept his foot in it. After 180 or so wind resistance starts to get bad...

 

I have 96 auto, and when Iwas going to the Hot Import Nights in Ft. Lauderdale, we went through alligator alley and managed to get to 127mph no prob with three people in the car including me

For the person that asked the question on top speed. I've hit 145mph without a problem, I have a 5sp though. The car seems to have more juice left at 145, so maybe I'll hit 150 one day! Take care!

PS VOLVO GUY SUCKS! Notice how he mentioned that a civic with a turbo, but he does say that we need to get forced induction to get any power out of our cars. I think I know why he likes the Volvo so much. The child seat fits great in there, and his mommy can drive him around all day long!

 

 

gotten to 140 easly 5 spd 96 pearl white max... Except i had a little problem i could have gone faster but i had a 270 lb fat man stuck in my sunroof opening ....
ohh well theres always time for more...im sure given enough road space a max could hit 160 or sodontyou?

 

136 mph in my 97 Se auto on the 190 in Plano, and 141mph in my 02 Se auto both felt like they had a little more in them!

 

While in Canada in my '97 SE auto, 5 people in the car, had the speedo about where 150 would be, going off how far 130 is from 140 on the gauge. Of course, speedo reading and actual can be off by a few percent, it's safe to say that 140-145 is possible.

 

131, always run out of road. It used to take forever to get from 120-130 when stock, but now with the intake it gets there very quickly

 

Down hill 140 no more gear left. Downhill isnt as stressfull on the engine. when I held speed going up hill I actually watched my gas guage go down. Decided to stop and put in neutral and coast back to highway speeds. As for 120-130 my 95 gets there quick actually seems quicker than the 2k2 6 speed which ive only managed 120. I think 6th gear might be a little to tall or Nissan is regulating the horse power on me.
