Superchargers and Turbo Kit ???

I know that Stillen makes a decent supercharger for the Max and now have learned that a company called Vortech (I believe that's right) makes a turbo kit. I noticed the prices for the turbo are a bit more. I was wondering if anyone else makes charger kits for the Max and how much they run and how reliable they might be. Thanx for the info everyone...

Stillen uses the vortech supercharger. Use the search a little. If you are too lazy to search Id get a supercharger.

Yeah, calling me lazy is just aparently your little way of feeling bigger than the rest I see. Again, after SEARCHING myself, I've not found any legitimate kits for the Max. My simple question is, does anyone know of any other legitimate ones out there...perhaps this time you could help me out, instead of just name calling like a 5 year old. Thanks to everyone else.

He didn't call you any names.

The way I read it, he said that if you didn't feel like searching, he recommends the SC.

Semper Fi.

Let me help you out here there big guy!!!!I dont know if you came here for the Mardigras to help out our band this past Feb but if you did you would have had a chance first hand to see my S/Cer kit. Anyways stillen makes a supercharger kit and they use a Vortech blower. Now if you want turbo then your going to have to go to the Groupdeal forum and this guy Nigel just posted a group deal on turbos. Turbos is a custom kit. We have not seen any track numbers actually we did but the guy has not reposted yet to see any other times but the one he posted last. you will get more power out of them since they are exhaust driven. Well myself and Nismo2020 will be in Marietta if the band ever stops by look us up.

I say Dyno numbers tell you a lot! Track numbers are all well and good but are driver dependent and altitude dependent. Just look at the variation of track times between people on the org that seemingly have similar mods.

Living at 5500 ft, I will not do quite as well as guys at sea-level, plus I just suck at drag racing in general. Look at dyno charts, they will show you graphically where and when the power is delivered.

This is the guy right here with the Turbo he has his car up and running and he even Dynoed it, and hes right I myself suck at the drag strip as well, but if hes got the dyno graph to prove his gains jump on this right here, besides Turbo you can adjust your boost. I cant adjust my boost at all.

Nigel I didnt say nothing bad about the turbo kit so hope you are not upset. I didnt even know you had dynoed that car with your turbo set up.

Nah man not upset ,angry or anything! Just trying to say I do suck at drag so even if I did run the track again it wouldn't yield very spectacular numbers.

It will be a while before I get back to strip though! I am on business trip for three weeks and I still need to replace the clutch. Then need to break in the clutch.....you get the idea!

I like my turbo very much! Doesn't matter to me what other people think really. I used to get all defensive over turbo vs supercharger, but what's the point? People will buy whatever they want to buy and have opinions about one vs another. I like the way I can turn up the boost whenever I like! Going from 5.5 psi to 10.8 psi is like a shot of NOS! You (almost)instantly get from 260 ft-lbs of torque to over 350 ft-lbs at 4000 rpm So guess it is like a 100 shot of NOS.

By the way I do have dyno chart comparisons on the GD page 3 for anyone that's interested. I have dynoed at 9.3 but not at 10.8

Nigel,
are you still running on stock internals for your engine or did you have major engine work done? I'm starting to consider the Turbo as a viable alternative to a V2 SC, based on the increasing number of posts regarding grinding, failed blowers and crappy support from Vortech.
As far as having the kit fitted, as much as I'd like to come to CO (spent many months in Boulder and surrounding areas, rock climbing while in college) it's a little far from Oregon. Is it possible to do it myself? Are there instructions with the kit?

I'm planning on pretty much just having suspension upgrades and boost of some form as my mods. You mentioned restrictive air flow in the exhaust system being an issue in one of your other threads. Would that still be an issue with something like a Budget 'F' Pipe?

Are your Group deal prices still current. I'm looking for the Kit 2 setup, possible with BOV and maybe later on a boost controller. Please can you either PM me or reply with the current pricing and also whether or not it can be installed by anyone other than a professional shop.

Thanks
