VI or 5 speed conversion?

I have a 98 GLE. I have already done thw whole PRCAI warpspeed y-pipe, carsound cat. I need more power but I don't want to give my left leg for costs. Should I do the 5-speed conversion, or the Vortech.....Ii heard that the VI doesn't do much for power on an autocrapic transmission.

VI

Or better yet, if you hate the automatic so much since you refered to it as "autocrapic" ( ) sell and go buy a manual.

Yea from what I seen people that posted their et's with s/c auto' don't do that much different then NA 5spd. Also I'm auto and lately I've been drivin my cousins 5spd carolla and its so much fun, I can only imagin if a crapy carolla is that much fun to drive stick what would a 5spd Max feel like. Definitly go with conversion more speed and you get more fun out of it to. One day I hope to do one!

I say both too. I'm consider a 5spd conversion myself. If I still have my SC, I would still do the conversion. If you think driving around in a NA 5spd is nice, just imagine driving a boosted 5spd Maxima.

if u only want to get one or the other and it's for speed i say VI, because 5 speed will make u a little faster but you'll get much more gains wit the VI...however, if u can get both it would be great...i'm doing conversion also and i'm doing it more for the entertainment and fact that it just feels better for me and i just love driving stick, not for speed...although it will make my car a little faster than this autocrapic....

speed --> VI
real driver/love -->conversion

both?

If you really want the 5-speed, I say you sell your car and buy a one. Then put the VI on the new one when you get some more money. I personally don't think it's a good idea for you GLE drivers to do the conversion because when you go to sell your car, people will know it was converted (since GLEs only come in Auto) and may be skeptical to buy it. This is why I'm not considering the conversion, and just going to get a different car.

SEs came in 5 speed though

In your case, it might very well cost you less to do the conversion I think, that is if you like the options/color of your car. Because if you buy another car, you'll have to pay the sales tax and other **** all over again and that alone is probably more then the cost of the tranny swap. But there is a lot of hassle swapping trannies if you don't know of someone who can do it for you for a reasonable fee.
If I can get a buyer for 10.5k for my car, I'll give it away with everything invested then I might not even buy a Maxima all over again, just save the $ and buy something else..

i see your point but i tried selling my car and trading and it's like virtually impossible to get the deal i want....what i wanted was a 95 or at beast 96 max SE 5 speed wit around same mileage. It's like so impossible to find that, plus no one wants to buy my car...my car on kbb.com is worth like 7500 and wit all the extra mods (spoiler, fogs, new system) it should be worth around 8,000 right? well no one wants a GLE anymore and i tried trading but first off, no dealer has a 95/96 stick in my area and if they trade, they trying to rip me off...they say my mods don't count as add ons and might make the value of my car lower...which i can understand but i'll just lose money in the long wrong trading my car in....so my best bet is to just get the conversion and keep my car...it's a sentimental thing too...plus i don't plan on selling my car...i plan on keeping it forever...maybe another 5 to 10 years from now it may be a 10 second car ....

most people that buy used car now adays either want a close to new car or a close to dead car (old honda's and acura's between 85 and 92)...i'm unfortunate to be right between that
