Just curious as to how many miles you fellow 4th Gen owners have on your Max's & how your Max's been treating you?


As of this posting, I have over 74K on my '98 SE and it still runs smooth!!

 

'96 GXE with almost 62k miles. Once I had a bad spark plug. That's about it.

71k, no problems aside from the accident, but they fixed it up and it runs the same as before

97 GLE 50,750 miles

 

'97 SE. 61K.
Repairs: Alternator 59k, belt tensioner 60k.
Next Repair: door handle.

 

96gle 38k. Blown auto tranny at 36k. Blown 5spd swap tranny at 38k. Blown front passenger strust (replaced with agx). Broken into once and almost stolen. Hit in the back after someone ran a red light, got me a new bumper (needed one) and quarter panel. No other problems.

Also, passenger seat no longer moves back/forward????

97 SE
86,400 - bought it in Sept 2001 with 70,600 on it.

I've had the oil pressure switch start leaking, which was replaced. I also have my check engine light going on and off w/ the speed sensor code. I replaced the speed sensor, and no fix. But the only thing that you really notice is that the cruise control doesn't work sometimes. That's it.

 

Cruse control.... Check your intake maniford vaccum hose(s) for any leak..

 

79,586 miles....
have a Timing Cover Oil Seal Leak..only if i could fix it without costing close to 1200....
Replaced alternator and starter at 79k miles.... and still doing it's thing....

98 GLE with approximately 22,000 miles (36,000 kms)

Still runs like brand new

 

40k 97 no problems

 

95 SE with 161,000. Still runs very good. My engine never seems to lose power. Major problems fixed are transmission, 2 clutches, and starter.

 

45k on my beautiful gxe 5spd

 

65k, no problems.

 

104k, bought it at 92k. Runs like brand new

 

51k, No problems. (Knock on fake wood)

 

54100 on my 95

 

98 GXE - 67k miles, got her used in august of 2001 with 57k miles. No problems, recent tune up, running like a champ

 

...bought in July 2001 at 89k. Driven around US for a roadtrip in August 2001 for 8k for no problem.

Replaced the left front O2 sensor in December 2001, the same goes for Oil Pressure Sensor and its seal. Mpg will start dropping if I don't clean my Stillen Cone Intake for 6k (29-30mpg at 74-75mph highway, 22-24 city, 95% highway, 5% city). Change oil w/ synthetic every 5k, and it's running silky smooth.....

 

just rounded 145 yesterday. 96' SE 5sp. Runs great, no major repairs. I've had stillen rotors since 30k! tokico blues since 25k (they are ready to be repalced i think!).

planning on getting 200k out of this car.

67K miles on my 97 SE...no engine problems, jus did 60K mile tune up a few months go so it runs greats..needs new struts tho(darn NYC roads)

 

1999 SE with 52k.... Replaced clutch at 46k, Replaced driver's side transmission seal at 50k, replaced oil pressure switch at 50k.

98 SE - just turned 86000 miles. Replaced serpentine belt and fuel pressure release valve (on gas tank) but that's it! No major problems, and still runs smooth like new.

99 GXE auto 39,777 miles and just now having problems with the cv/axle assembly on the passenger side.

just hit 166,000 today. original eng and tranny. replaced the starter, and i think this is my 3rd battery. new O2 sensor and temp coolant sensor too. thats about it

 

99 SE 54,000 Miles runs like new.

 

96 SE, auto, 95,000 miles. Second Battery, same tranny, exhaust, alternator. No problems

 

97 SE Maxima, 62,000 miles
At 57,042 miles I replaced:
1 Whole engine wiring harness that goes to the ECU
2 O2 sensors
1 knock sensor
3 injectors
1 cam sensor
1 brake booster
1 master cylinder
