shift ****

Just put on my sola luna ****. It feels great and is lower, but looks a little funny, still looks too high (I think due to smaller **** size), and has a bit of a gap with my somewhat chewed up boot. - Save the $20 and the trip to Sears, 3 min with hair dryer and it came off very easily. Any suggestions on my aesthetic problem

I have an STS so the sola luna sits perfectly--any lower and I wouldn't be able to reach some of the gears easily. Anyways, I never like that my fingers would touch the hard edges of the sola luna ****'s collar. Solution: I put the stock boot over that so only the round head is visible over the boot. This is made possible because the insert/collar of the **** can be unscrewed slightly out from the ****. If you leave a 1/3" gap between the silver collar and the ****, you can put the elastic band portion of your boot over this and it will stay in place. Maybe I'll shoot some pic of it later today...

Inset shows how the collar is lowered 1/3" to accomodate the rubber band at the top of the boot to hold it in place. The Sola Luna **** screws in tight--you feel very connected when shifting. You will never have to worry about little screws coming loose like with the universal *****...

sola luna

I prefer the feel the feel of the sola luna to stock, but I think it looks a little goofy on my stock (non STS) shifter - kinda looks like a lolly pop or the BIC pen mascot. Now I feel like I need an STS - I heard someone inverted their boot to look better (not sure, considering if it can be done, as my boot is a bit chewed up.
