Idle Air Control Valve -- where is it? (I've searched)

I figure I should clean the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV), but I don't know where it is!!!

Also, I know that it should be cleaned kind of like the TB, so, any additional advice on this would be great!!!

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thank You .ORG!

OK, after your MAF, there are two hoses that come off the sides of the intake duct. Follow the one on the firewall side. It will lead you to the IACV.

What symptoms does a dirty IACF exhibit? How often do you clean it?

Yes it is,
I never heard of anyone cleaning there IACV it is to be replaced if faulty.

A faulty IACV will cause the car to idle at low RPM's which will cause the car to vibrate and also when the car is idling the RPM needle will go up and down.

I had to replace mines 2 months ago.

OK, so obviously there are two skules of thought on this:

1) You can clean the IACV
2) You can't clean the IACV, you need to replace it.

L'il Help???

Thanks!

i just called my local dealer and he said that the IACV is over $400!!!!!! WTF???? I asked him to double-check, and sure enough
it was what I needed...

SO, is he on crack? I thought it was a little valve...

Yes, this is a fairly expensive sensor. I had mine replaced at 60,000 miles. Luckily, Nissan replaced mine under my extended warranty.

The Maxima service manual specifically lists the method for cleaning the IAC valve, so it is obviously something that can be done.

Do yourself a favor and buy a service manual. It is perfect for these sort of situations.
