Splash Guard Installation Question

Just purchased a 99 SE on Monday (back in the family again) and was looking to get a set of splash guards. Anyone put these on before? Just curious if I'm going to need to drill, or is this more of a 'snap-on' type? Read a few older posts about painting and such, but didn't see any mention of the installation. Thanks.

Re: Splash Guard Installation Question

No drilling, just "plug and play".

Yes, plug and play. Just need to remove the small trim pieces that are on there, and having a very small, stubby philips head would help a lot. Getting in there with the tire in the way can be a pain with a regular screwdriver. Turn the front wheels to get them out of the way, for the back use the stubby one.

i used a small screwdriver for the front ones...for the back ones, you are supposed to take off the wheels, which i guess is a fairly good security feature, but i used a weird tool (dunno what it was called sorry). it was almost like a thicker alan wrench that fit just right and i was able to screw them in pretty much all the way. goodluck

Instead of removing the wheels try using a phillips head bit and an open end wrench. I'm referring to the type of screwdriver that comes with a set of interchangeable bits. Use the phillips head bit with an open end wrench to turn the screw.
