Please help with coilover info.

Please help with coilover info.
If anyone could leave some info on coilover suspension, I am looking to get a pair of Weapon R or Ground Controls. I currently use Koni shocks with Intrax springs.
I am worried that the shocks will bottom out with a shortend shock/spring set up. Pawn or anyone else who uses coilovers, do you guys ever run into this problem? will this break the Koni shocks?
will running a 3" drop on Koni's work...or is it a sure way to end up with blown shocks?
any info is appreciated thank you.

i just installed Ground Controls and KYB AGXs. I have them set pretty low, and although the springs are still breaking in (it's been less than a week) ride comfort is pretty good. don't get me wrong - i feel every bump in the road, but i don't mind cuz the car handles so damn good!! as far as bottoming out, i just cut the factory bump stops in half when installing, just like the instructions said to, and i haven't bottomed out at all. overall i love this setup. with my new 18" SSR GT1s, i'm looking pretty good!!
