Apexi vs. Fields afc for '99 SC Max ?
I'm having trouble getting the boost out of my v2 supercharger with the Apexi s-afc. I tried different hi/lo throtle settings and increase points, but it still chokes during full throtle boost.?
Has anyone else had this problem with the Apexi s-afc?

How do you get boost out of Apexi s-afc? It's not a boost controller.

Let me try and clarify this. The engine is not getting enough gas between 3k thru 5k RPM's, it chokes. No matter how I adjust the AFC, nothing changes, it still chokes when it feels like it. Has anyone else had problems like this with their '99 supercharged Maxima?

TEC-II, speed pro or haltech will correct the problem.

Answer me a few questions...
How much boost?
What size pulley?
Have you changed the FMU disc or is it the same one from Stillen?
What is your peak fuel pressure? (hint get a fuel pressure gauge if you dont have one)
What do your spark plugs look like? Bright white or brownish?

I think you are getting too much fuel. If you were not getting enough gas, you should be looking at an engin rebuild by now.

FMU's are notorious for being fat in the middle rpms with a Vortech style blower. This has to do with the ratio of fuel pressure and flow. You need 4x the pressure to double the flow through the same size injector. The progression with boost, horsepower and fuel needs is linear. Where as fuel delivery with an FMU is not. So the FMU is tuned to be right on the money at the higher rpm boost levels, but its fat in the middle. There's allot more to it than that though, I really do not want to type it out...
This may be different on a turbo than a Vortech style blower. The turbo boost level ramps up much faster, but a blower like a Vortech unit is quite linier in its boost level as related to RPM's.
THE BOTTOM LINE! Maximus, get your car on a dyno with a wideband O2 sensor and tune it properly, it is the only way.
