I have no idea what hose you speak of is for. However, there is a good chance it is a coolant overflow protection hose. If your car gets really hot and the coolant is overfilled it will come out the hose preventing pressure buildup in the system. I don't even know if the Max has such a hose, but I know for fact my old car did. Just throwing out a general idea until an expert can let the truth be known.

It's probably just the hose that comes of the airbox....I have one too.....It bends downward at the last inch or so on the hose.

its the hose for the transmission Breather which is not suppose to connect to anything, just hangs there.

I had to get to the bottom of this nowhere hose last year. If it's the one I'm thinking of its attached along a larger hose which passes by the dipstick for the auto tranny. The small hose which is not connected....is the transmission breather (hose act like a vent tube) I had this confirmed by two Nissan Technicians.
