Tire Noise

I have 245/40-18 Nitto NT 555. I noticed that they are starting to get really loud. Is this from wear or is it just a noisy tire? What si the quitiest tire on the market?

When you get into performance tires, noise is one of the things that comes with them. Especially when they ware down. Some are quieter then others, but overall they are louder then H rated tires.
