>>>>>>I Just Got KYB AGX & Sprint, Do I Have Everything??? Confused...<<

When the struts/shocks came (nick in CT) it was the struts/shocks only.

Am I supposed to use the stock top mounts/spring cup, etc,,,???

From a search, I read threads of grinding down a part, etc... I thought this was "plug & play"..??

Please let me know of what I should be aware of during the install...

Thanks for helping me out guys///

Yes, use stock strut mounts and spring cups. You don't need anything else, just tools

make sure that you get at least camber bolts..... people on the org are either full o shiznitz or all the people I know with sprints have crap cars. The alignment gets seriiiouuusly off spec.

u don't need a camber kit for sprints, get some new dust boots and maybe bearings but they are not necessary you can use the stock parts, but after lowering your car with sprints especially its mandatory to get an alignment!

well I TRIED to get it aligned with stock parts, it wouldnt happen, and I said camber bolts, not the whole expensive kit. They cost me 25 bucks. At least 3 guys in dallas had the same experience as me.

Whats the difference between the bolts and the set that Ground COntrol sells?

The $300 dollar one is a camber kit. It allows for up to 2 degrees of adjustment. I know stillen makes one for like $350 it consits of some plates that bolt up to the top of the strut. The bolts that seximagtr and I have are made by ingalls and allow 1 degree, it's just a replacement bolt and washer that goes at the bottom of the strut. Since the bolts are fairly inexpensive, I would invest in some of those when you drop you car. but you might not need it. It seems like some of the other members haven't had any problems with it.

Direct fit if you're using stock oem springs. I've heard of mods having to be made for non-oem springs.

WHat kinda logic is this ?

Did AGX Eibach no problems.
4th gen AGXs w/ Sprints will go on fine.

Camber BOLTS OR PLATES ARE NOT NEEDED.

Eibach sells CAMBER BOLTS. (Replaces one bolt.)

STILLEN and GC sell CAMBER PLATES.(Replaces upper strut mount.)

You've never done a SPRING INSTALL. Especially an AGX one. YOU Just Hear Things and ASSUME.
Get your facts straight at least.

-Assumptions are the Mother of ALL F-Ups.

Oh, I see. So based on a two sentence comment you think you know me and what I have or haven't done? That's impressive.

Alright, this isn't to have a debate with Chimp...

From all the research I've done, the mod is for 5th gens and not 4th.

Now, if I went with your advise / assumption, I wouldn't install them today, therefor wasting a day...

Thanks... I know Chimp has exp with Spring installs and you mentions that "I heard" and just started posting so what am I to believe...???

Fact, if you knew exactly what you were talking about, you would never say "I've heard..."

You would know it right away.

Based on a two sentence comment + your last post, I KNOW YOU HAVEN'T DONE THE INSTALL. That's Ghey.

FJC, 4th gen installs are straight forward. Its the 5th gen install that is a PITA.
Use OE Dust boots, if you need replacing, since the AGX ones don't fit properly.

PhatBastard, if you would like to play this childish game, and let me know how you really feel, please feel free to email me a no-holds-barred response.

-Peace

I understand and appreciate your point, FJC.

I too did quite a bit of research on the "org", maximadriver and other forums for several weeks before choosing AGX struts/shocks and OEM springs for my Max.

My mistake was making a generalized statement that I "heard" there were mods for aftermarket springs and ASSuming that everyone would understand that I was referring to information obtained from these forums. And I should have backed up my comments with links to specific threads on this subject or not made the comment at all.

After reviewing my notes and looking back at the forums again, you are correct in saying that mods only applied to 5th gen.

My mistake, lesson learned.

I will tell you that in my case, which is apparently VERY unique, that a new camber bolt had to be installed on the driver side strut of my 4th gen Max to correct the alignment.

Chimp - thanks for the invite, but I'm not interested in having you climb up my *** any further. I will just concede at this point that you are "THE MAN" when it comes to spring installs.
