Heel toe shift?

Everytime time I try to heel toe shift in my maxima my knee bangs with the steering column. I tried aftermarket pedals, but is the same. The limited adjustments of the steering wheel don't help either. Are there pedals optimized for heel-toe shifting?? Hope that's not a dumb question BTW I am 6'2.

i know most people do it that way, with their toe on the brake and heel on the gas, but i find it easier to put my heel on the brake and toe on the gas. try it that way and see if it works better.

My biggest problem with heel and toe shifting on the Maxima is that the gas pedal is quite a bit lower in travel than the brake pedal. So if you aren't decelerating VERY hard (on the brake pedal hard), I find I cannot contort my heel off to the side and low enough. BUT, what I find works VERY well for me on my Maxima is putting the left edge of my right foot on the brake, and the right edge on the gas, and to adjust the brake, just push down harder, to adjust the gas, just angle the outter edge of your foot either further down or up.

BTW, I'm 6'1", so if my knee isn't banging, your's shouldn't either, unless we have drastically different preferred seating positions. I prefer the seat as low as possible, and just far back enough so that when my left leg is fully extended the clutch pedal bottoms out. And I don't like the back of my seat too reclined. In fact, I like it pretty straight up compared to most of my friends. I like it reclined just enough so that if I put either my right or left hand over the steering wheel, my arm will be fully extended. From the outside, side view, the top front edge of the driver's seat is just behind the front of the b-pillar, and the front of the head rest extended for my height, is at the back of the b-pillar.

wow no offense, but that was definetely the most complete description of your seating arrangement
