180 speaning ????

180 speaning ????
I was taking the entrance to a highway and 'slightly' steped on it just to test the car's stability, well the back of the car went on a complete completely around and the car started to spin. I have new tires on the front Bridgestone Potenza RE 950, but the one on the back I think are stock (80K miles) But when I looked at them they don't really seem bold, (border line at most). It happened today again at very low speed (but a another curve) Any ways, I just ordered tow more Bridgestone.
My question is: could there be any reason (other than needing new tires) why this happened. Plus, should I check anything other than the alignment to make sure nothing else got hurt by the spinning?
Thank you for your enlightment.

Yeah!, I was lucky that the car behind me saw me, and there weren't more than 3 cars around. I Just went back up the ramp (the wrong way) made a U turn and got back on the hight way. Both time I was lucky that there were no collitions.

I did that **** before in my old GS-R. I tapped the brakes cause I thought I was in too fast. Car went right around....didnt hit anything...lucky..slid less than a foot away from gaurdrail backwards for 100 ft.
lesson learned-> NEVER tap the brakes in the midst of a turn!

Re: 180 speaning ????
If you have a RSB that might cause you to do that, or a very heavy box/**** in the trunk...but I doubt it. I can't even get the back of my max to step out on gravel corners w/out pulling the little handle next to my seat.
Nothing should be hurt by spinning your max if you didn't hit anything. As far as your car is concerned it just did a fast corner.
Other possibilities:
1. Your LSD got very confused (you probably don't have one)
2. Your front wheels are toed in too far, or back wheels are toed out
Just my $.02

What is RSB? LSD? (is that for the Canadian Edition?).
I am so bad with abreviations.

normally the rear end sliding out wouldn't be so extreme, but your front axle has a set of brand new performance tires while your rear has 80K mi on stock tires, so there is a huge difference in traction between front and rear
after recently installing my RSB my rear end was sliding out too easily in certain conditions (wet roads esp. in storms, gravel or sometimes sand on paved roads, etc.) so i decreased the rear tire pressure so that it was one pound/sq inch less pressurized than the front - this had the opposite effect of what your tire configuration did, making the rear more grippy
btw, i did a 180 on a freeway entrance ramp this past winter - that felt reeeaaal nice (adrenaline!) if you know what i mean, my car was moonwalking like michael jackson , it just went 180 and moonwalk/slid backwards into the snow piled up on the side of the freeway for a nice cushiony landing

Yeahhh, I definitively know what you mean. The first time my heart was pounding like "wow". The second time it lost the effect , I was like "what ever".
I don't have a RSB, but shouldn't that prevent your car from doing speans, instead of making them eisier. The back of my does feel kind of loose, and wabaly when I hit 100mph and over. (Not that I dod that often )

Those tires have lost the ability to grip the road. Change them ASAP!
The rubber is probably all dry and probably has cracks along the sides as well.
You may also have weak shocks in the rear which will cause excessive sway and the rear end to break lose quicker then normal.
Can anybody tell me what "SPEANING" means? Is this a new Maxima.org word?

BTW: "SPEANING" is a term that non-native speakers who can't spell (like me) use to refer to the "SPIN"
