GXE or SE

I was reading more in depth on the types of packages offered on the Maximas and I noticed that the SE package comes with the white gauges in 1995. I own a GXE and it came with white gauges. Is this common or do I own a specialty car? I guess I'm just hopin'! Thanks.

Re: GXE or SE

I also have a '95 GXE, came with black faced gauges. we also have a 2001 SE (white gauges of course) someone probably put the white gauges on your car.

Do a VIN check.

But most likely you have a GXE and someone put in white gauges.

You're sure your car isn't an SE? It is most likely that someone just put in the white guages in the GXE but its definitely not an SE if it has no spoiler, sunroof, same color door handles/grill, etc. You probably just have one unique Max!

if by "same color door handles/grill" you mean "body color door handles/grill" then that is incorrect. SE's DO have body colored door handles.

SEs have spoiler, body colored door handles (as opposed to chrome on GXE and GLE), fog lights, white guages, and i guess a sunroof too.

Yep you're right, that is what I meant. I meant to say that if his car didn't have same color grill/door handles as car that then it wasn't an SE, sorry about that. I should know that I have an SE I was saying his car was not an SE if it had no...and then I listed things that included same colored parts as things it didn't have but the way I wrote it made it look like I said the opposite

96 brochure says sunroof is an option on all three trims, GXE, SE and GLE. I'd guess it's the same option on all 95's.

Your car is a Frankenstein. SprintMax has a white 97 GXE with the SE steering wheel. You guys lucked out with some nice SE stuff.

There's leather covering on it I think.

SEs are leather and I believe the GXEs are vinyl.

Well, on the 95/96 SEs, I'm not sure.

But in 97, the SEs got leather wrapped steering wheel, also a smaller tighter design, not the standard giant airbag steering wheels. In 2000, that steering wheel shape that was exclusive to the SE became standard on everyting, but it wasn't leather, except on the SE I gather.
