Climate Control
you are new, so I won't flame your for not doing a search on this topic (answered a few weeks back)
I think its safe to come to the conclusion that you could sell your maxima and buy another one with climate control and it would cost the same as trying to upgrade... there is just too much involved..

The manual control is really better.
I've got both types.
The manual controls are far easier than most cars manual controls and the auto temp control is nice but a little more complex and not as easy to operate.
Spend the money on something worthwhile.
You'll be sorry you wasted the money if you upgrade.

I liked the neat digital display of the climate control on my 98SE but was annoyed at the automatic operation of the fan and vents. I overided them for about a week or two and came to the conclusion that the climate control kicks A$$ and I love it! Just set a nice temp and forget, only yhing you need to do is select defrost or recirc if needed. I wouldn't try to upgrade, sadly I think It would be easier to get a whole nother car!!!
