The y-pipe comes off the front and rear exhaust manifolds and flows the exhaust gases into the main catalytic converter.

Performance differs from stock to aftermarket because in the 4th gens, you remove the stock pipe that has two pre-cats (very restrictive). Therefore with smoother, better flowing mandrel bent piping and no pre-cats, you have a better exhaling Maxima.

Best performance increase noticed in mid range rpms.

Best of luck and Happy Motoring!

www.warpspeedperformance.com www.custommaxima.com www.cattman.com www.avalonracing.net www.stillen.com

most exhaust setups would give you a bit more highend power. Y-pipe would give you power throughout the powerband

y pipe is a pipe that is literally shaped like a "Y" and its pretty much the best bang for your buck horsepower bolt on - dynoed to give around 10 HP to the wheels, warpspeedperformance has great pipes and they arent labeled "for off road use only" like the stillens and jwt -(they have better prices too)

Have fun searching on the org...

...in the end...Ypipe is your Destiny.

Keep your stock muffler/cat.
Get the Wrspd Ypipe...

You will be a whole different "animal."

Will there be a difference in how car sounds? Will there be a difference in engine wear/resale value? How easy is it to install?

Sorry for the many questions, but your post seems pretty convincing and i wanted some more details THANKS!

Yes there will be a difference in sound ecpecally if you have an aftermarket muffler. when it comes to resale value it wont really matter unless you are selling it to someone like and .org member or somehting like that. No it wont effect engine wear just increses hp's.
Its fairly easy to install if you are somewhat mechanical if not just take it to a muffler shop or something like that and it will cost about 50 to 100 dollars.
