help with cat heat shield

When I was installing my STS, I couldn't get the cat off, so I tryed to take off the heat shield, and I could get it around the cat. I slid it back over the resonator and left it there. Now it make weird sounds all the time. How can I get it off?

Well, if you think you won't need it, just "zip" that SOB off. But I can't understand where it is now, instead of over the cat. reply back with more specifics.

it's on top of the resonator heat shield thats right behind the cat. The screw tabs make me unable to remove it.

Ok, so it is basically "free-floating" with no screws? Sorry to ask all the questions, just trying to see how you have it on there....
