My brake pads screech like crazy whenever i use them. I took it to the mechanic about a week ago and he said they werent worn out and are fine, but they still squeek and rub loudly. What else could be causing this?

 

your pad OEM or some aftermarket? just make the sound when first driving or still make sound after you drive for a while? I heard the OEM queek when the car just warming up but it doesn't queek after that. Seach this forum, and you be amaze how many threads related to your problem.

 

possibly cuz you have semi-metalic brake pads or sumthin. just my $.02

 

Take the caliper pins out and make sure they and the back of the pad that touches the caliper piston have brake lube on them...it will help to ensure the pad guies are in straight as well...they are the flat bent peice at the outside edges of each pad that clips the pad in place.
