Cleaning your IAC valve

Cleaning your IAC valve
Is there a sticky or some place that explains how to clean your IAC valve? i've done the search and found nothing. I tried removing the 3 bolts that mount the IAC, but i can't even reach one of them because it is awkwardly placed. I'm pretty sure it's easy to do, but i can't even get past that first step. Can anyone provide a link or a quick "how-to" on how to clean the IAC?
thanks!

Re: Cleaning your IAC valve
You just have to find some universal joints to get that last one out. Then all you have to do is pull and it comes out.

2 Questions
1) what's an IAC Valve, and where is it?
2) What sort of symptoms exactly does a bad IAC valve make?
I've got a pretty loud engine lately, lots of "ticking on idle" I was told this ticking was just the loud injectors on our cars, but maybe I'm wrong.

IAC is Idle-Air control. it's what keeps air flowing into your engine when you're idling and not pressing the accelerator. If you follow the air intake path, it is located just after the throttle body and sort of faces the firewall and the driver's side. It has 3-4 plugs on it and is bolted onto the intake manifold by 3 bolts. You can suspect IAC valve problems if you're car idles at less than 500-600 rpm or if it doesn't idle at all, ie. stalls. Of course low idle could mean a dirtly throttle body, too.

Well, my Manifold is brand new (MEVI, and my throttle body was cleaned when I installed the MEVI so there isn't a speck of carbon on it....So no Carbon anywhere, all the way down to the engine.
And my car idles around 650-700, but I always hear a pretty loud "tickticktickticktick" when the engine is on, which gets louder and faster with the accelerator pressed.
This normal?

today me and a guy at work were workin on fixing my intake up....im pretty convinced now that somehow its leaking (DIY upper intake)...me and another friend are gonna try and fix it right now....at the moment...the IAC wire is just hanging lose
....it stalled today, but it was fine when i started her up and revved a little.....ever since i changed fuel filters its happeneing....i dunno...hopefully its something as simple as a leak in my DIY intake, and not something more serious
