Could I switch ECUs from 96 to 95?
I was wondering if the 95 ECU will work in a 96.

A rep. from JWT said they electronics are quite different.
That is why they dont have a 96 ECU upgrade available yet.

Sounds like there are emissions and performance regulations programmed into the 96 that are not in the 95.
Is this correct?

OBD-1 and OBD-II are On-Board Diagnostic version 1 and 2 respectively. OBD-1 and OBD-II are computer system module required by EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to ensure proper emission control system operation for vehicle by montoring emission-related components and system for deterioration and malfunction.

OBD-1 monitors only hard faults. OBD-II has the ability to actively monitor the system for proper operation, deterioration or a malfunction.

I would assume that the active monitoring would end up with much more wire harness connections?

Again...Can the 95ECU work in the 96?
