Got my y pipe installed and.......

Well, I finally got it installed and my front strut bar. All from Budget exhaust.
And what do I think? Well, at first crank of the engine, the car burbled to life. I was expecting a lot worse cuz I have an Ultra flow straight through muffler, but it wasn't that bad, at first. Anyways, I took it for a quick spin and at first I didn't notice that much of a difference. I think I was expecting a lot more or a bigger difference. There were some gains, but not as noticable. Well, after that, I was kinda bummed. The next day, today, I drove it a little longer than yesterday and.... well, it was a lot better! I think I had too much in expectations yesterday and the drive wasn't all that long. Today, though, I noticed it pulled much harder especially after 3k. Well, needless to say, I had a nice grin on my face. The only thing I didn't like was the noise. At WOT, there was a slight hiss but barely noticable. And there were no bee's in the can noise. I think I'm going back to a stock muffler setup because it's too loud. I just hope I won't lose that much power going back to the stock muffler. The pipe fit like a glove and install was nice and easy. I would definitely recommend the budget y pipe. As for the strut bar, I haven't really noticed anything yet cuz I haven't really taken any big sweepers.

If not, it takes a few days for your ECU to adjust....

Do you still have the cat and resonator on your car? Just curious since Im considering switching to a Dynomax Ultraflow muffler to get rid of my "buzzing" exhaust (y-pipe, no cat, no resonator, flowmaster muffler).

One recommendation to everyone, if you get a y-pipe, dont get a flowmaster muffler For a domestic muffler, it sure sounds ricey.

Admax98, I still have the stock res and cat. It's actually not bad. I guess I'm getting use to it. But, I'm prob gonna still go with a stock muffler setup. If you like the burble type sound, then the ultraflow muffler is great. Not too ricey.

Same here! Only at WOT, but you cant even describe it as a "hiss". Im going to have to go out to my car now and hear it again

stock muffler + all those other exhaust mods = stock sound and almost stock performance; get a Y2K or newer SE muffler at least but don't go with the stock muffler you'll just not be realizing the gains from your other mods. Also if you didn't change your B pipe, at least put some mandrel bent pipe after the resonator. There is a big restricter (reduction in the pipe) just behind the resonator; get rid of this and you'll notice more gains.
