do i need a new knock sensor?
today while messing around with intake (as many of you have read), i started the car with the intake apart ( WHOOPS ) ....it tripped the MAF light (0102) and then the knock sensor light (0304)....i was thinking that the maf light tripped the ks light for no reason, so i just reset it, and when about my way....now for the past few weeks, ive been expeirencing poor gas mileage (i mean like 180 per full tank)....i drive a little hard, but DAMN....also, low idle....i was thinking it was from tb needed cleaning, im gonna do that tomorrow...im also gonna check the ecu tomorrow and see if the 0304 is on....if it is, then i need a new KS right !?
.....well thanx for the info

If it throws the code then yeah, if not, it sort of sounds like you got MAF promlems.

$249 for a new MAF
$109 for a new knock sensor

Couple of things to check.... make sure that all of the vaccuum lines are hooked back up to the TB and the air box. Also, make sure that the breather and EGR tubes are hooked back up properly. Check your IAC as well and make sure that it's hooked up properly and clean. The KS code has probably been there for some time though. it doesn't usually trip a SES light. Just throws the code when it's starting to go out and let's the ECU know. Then, when it's toast sometimes it will trip the light. If you have the code chances are good that you need to replace it. How many miles do you have on your car? They tend to wear out at around 80k from everything that I've seen. Sooner if you tend to drive your car hard
