Removing scratch... someone help
I got a scratch from some ******* coming out of the parking lot. I will not be able to buffer it but was thinking of sanding it down then spray paiting and clear coating over it. My maxima is FSO Sagemist Green, anyone know a good online store to get autopaint or in the Brooklyn,NY area. I went to Strauss Auto Parts but they don't have ****! Please help.

maybe GS-27 will get it, worked for light scratches for me, a lot of times, the touch up paint looks worse than the scratch. I would sand it, primer, paint, and then clearcoat, do several light coats with the touchup paint and use a toothpick or a think artist's brush versus the one that comes with the paint, also check out www.paintscratch.com

First figure out if the scratch is through the paint to the primer or metal. If it isn't there are alot of products available to fix it.
I have never used GS-27 but have heard it works well. You can also use 3-M rubbing compounds, Meguires Scratch-X or other type products.
If it's through the paint I would look for an airbrush painter before I brought to a body shop.
Check this link also.

if it is not too deep, try using a rubbing compound...then use a swirlmark remover... then try a polish or wax. if it is too deep, go to nissan and get some touch up paint. i have that metalic green too... it can be a pain, but i got mine to look pretty close. anyway, if it is not through the primer, apply a thin, thin coat with a small paint brush. after a half an hour to an hour, take a cleaning wax... light cleaning compound... and buff that area as well as you can. you may have to repeat this process 2-3 times. but the point of this process it to buff down the touch up paint until it is as flush to the body as you can get it. and if you get the touch up paint too thick, if you have a dremmel, you can use a felt brush attachment and some compound. but be careful, you can burn your paint doing this. after you are satisfied with your results, use some paint sealant or some "Liquid Glass" finish it off. hope this helps.
