I've had little 8 year old kids up to 70 year old grannys complimenting me on my car. Pretty much every weekend while Im cruising around, someone says something. Everyone from scrubby little punks, truckin rednecks, ricers, car dealers, parents and their kids, etc. I didnt realized that this car is so appealing to such a wide range of people.
Anyone else get this?

 

YUP! Happens to me a lot.

 

Yeah i get em too bro. I used to get them when i was stock even, i guess the pearl white and tan leather is appealing to everyone. Now that i got mods i get even more looks, but now there more of "what the hell is in that thing" kinda looks

 

I get more compliments on the hot Bit*hes in my back seat!

 

About all the compliments I get are from people age 25 and up, and they all say the same thing..."What year is that?" "95" "No way! That looks new enough to be a 99!"

Although I have gotten compliments from the ladies, but I think they're more of a "I know guys like cars, so if I compliment his car, maybe I can get tha D!" kinda natured compliment

Yeeeup. Makes me paranoid though when my car is dirty because I know people are looking! But I get alot of compliments and love it when I do!

 

Yeah low of times i get people that love my car, but hey , i cant blame them for wanting to look at a hot guy in a hot car I get alot of people that are suprized for even haveing the car, alot of people my age down own a maxima, specialy a fully moded one

yeah i was tried of people thinking it was my parents car, so now thats its moded, there like jesus! and when i get pulled over by cops and i give them the lip they hate me so much becuase they think im a spoiled little brat with a maxima, that momy and dady got me, even tho i payed for it all my self...

Wope. How many miles you have on those Nitto 555's on Momo 17", I've got a little over 6K on mine....do not see or measure any appreciable wear.

Back on topic. Positive comments and kudo's from everyone. Always have a problem with car salesmen...they want my Maxi in trade. I tell em, give me my price, no trade in price, you buy outright as a private sale and I'll consider that new 2002 or 03 max or 350 Z. When the Nissan technicians work on my Max they wear gloves...I'm serious.

 

Nope. Maybe twice in two years. Guess it just looks too plain.

 

A lot of people mistake mine for a brand new car and can't believe how little I payed. I know that spoiled brat feeling. I get dirty looks at the gas station especially since I'm filling up with premium fuel and most people don't think a Maxima needs it.

 

Why do you give "the lip" to cops? Do you want to get a larger fine on your ticket?

 

The exterior of the car get's mixed reactions. Most people are amazed at the condition and quality and mistake it for brand new
I have this one friend, whenever he jumps in my car, he's always like "WOAH, this is way better than so-and-so's 2001 Accord!"

The Bose stereo get's some compliments too!

The worst one I've gotten so far is "That's a Maxima? Oh, I thought it was an Accord cuz of the lights in the back look jus like one."

 

Here, people aren't really used to seeing modded maximas. So when I pass by or something, I get the feeling that people have mixed reactions.

I've also had my car complimented that it looked new (2000 year or somethin') but they were usually just old people walking by.

I'm glad I don't get too much attention though...I never bought a Maxima for that purpose.

 

Only once has anyone complimented my car, and that was a cop who pulled me over for running a red and let me off with a warning, saying "nice car, don't screw it up."

Otherwise, nothing...which kind of bugs me because I think my car looks awesome.



Maybe I need a body kit.

Maybe it's because airmattdog's car looks better than mine (also a White 97, but with more toys), and everyone's seen it.

Maybe I just shouldn't care enough what others think.

It looks like my car gets insults. I have three stars on my cardomain page. And even though it's mostly stock, I dunno...still makes me feel a little bad that maxima owners aren't really "havin' it."

 

Most max owners probably dont look at a stock red maxima and go "wow". isnt 3 stars average? Thats what my car has. People probably would rather see a fully bodykitted s/c maxima with a full dvd/sound system.

Oh well...

 

My problem with a body kit is that to pull into my parking garage, I already scrape a little, and roads/driveways in Seattle suck.

I was talking to a guy from the Seattle Housing Authority, and he said that some places make driveways do the incline/decline thing on purpose to make lowered cars not accessible.

Now with a body kit, I'm doomed. I'd have to park on the street all night in Downtown Seattle, and my car would probably get broken into within a week, even with my alarm.

As for the SC, install starts tomorrow night....I'm psyched!

I fully agree, Im 17 and I have a 97 Infinti I30. It was daddys car now, but Its my car NOW!!!!!

 

oh is not like that , if i feel like i can talk my way out of a ticket , they by all means i will, but if i know im getting one, and then thats when i give lip and be the bigest **** in the world, i dont give a ****, they cant add money on my ticket for having a smart mounth , only for what i have done...

when me and my boys go to import events, people or sorta amzed cuz they're like " a MAXIAMA???, WHAAAAA?" so that why i love tha max, cuz its will beat *** and there arent that many of us out there on tha import scene.

one of my favorite was a month ago when this lady saw me vacuuming my car at the gas station "Is that some kind of special car or is it a generic one" I told her it was a Maxima and she was like "oh thats a drug dealers car but it looks really nice"

I got compliments a lot..mostly on the front end..a lot people love the handling..i have artic pearl white and a lot of people love the color...it used to handle like a bus b4 the sprints.

i get alot of compliments on the car... usually on the condition of the paint.... but what i get the most is other maxima owners wanting to know where i got the body kit from and how much it costs.. of the last 10 people to come upi to me 9 of them asked about the kit and one about the new 18s i got

 

I get he most compliments on the 17" Konig Tantrum wheels on Fulda Extremo tires. The wheels are especially unique since I have custom- made Nissan centers on them. My car has this clean sophisticated look to it. I also get complimetns on my Greddy exhaust.
