I've had my exhaust for a little while now, but ever since I had it installed, I have noticed a clanking sound from the rear of my car whenever I go over bumps. People have also told me when they are driving behind me that my exhaust bounces around. I can also move the exxhaust around when the car is at a stand still by pushing on the exhaust tip. Is this normal, and what can I do to fix it? Did the shop that installed it put it on wrong? Looks kinda stupid when your driving around and your exhaust is bouncing all over the place. Thanks

hmmm

I would bet that your 'B' pipe is rattling a bit. I had the same problem and ended up replacing the rubber hangers on it and it was fine.
You should be able to grab the tip of the muffler and shake the exhaust and have it move a bit; that will keep it from cracking under stress.
I would suggest you climb under the car and look for scraped metal to see where it has been hitting on the underside of the car. Then see if you can come up with something to stop the excess travel; inmy case it was new rubber hangers for $15

Good luck!

how about using washers and hose clamps to stop the bracket from sliding through the hanger.

good idea!

I am certain that would work, I just thought the $15 would be easier to do then messing with washers, but your idea would be cheaper for sure!

Good Luck!
