While the canadian pipes may be somewhat similar to our non mandrel bent version they are not even close to our line of mandrel bent Y pipes. Right now we make 18 different Y pipes in different configurations and material. I think they make 2 and they paint one of them and its stainless.
The reason there is a price difference is that we only use high quality made in the USA aluminized steel and stainless. While we could use the cheaper canadian steel that they do we will not. We know it is important to be able to offer the extended warranties that we do on our steel products.
I recall earlier that budget said they used the same high quailty made in the USA steel that we do but Jime from the forum actually stopped in their shop looked through their tubing and said all their stainless was stamped "made in Canada" even though budget said it was not. Thanks again Jime.
As to stillen or ca**man, both use smaller tubing than we do, our pipes will outflow theirs. I have at least one stillen pipe in our shop now for repairs and a ca*tman pipe. Both have 2-1/4" collectors where we use 2-1/2" tubing. We also use longer lined flex sections. Our flex won't collapse and fail like the short ones that the other guys use because they crush one end to fit their 2-1/4" collector, that is why they have been failing. A flex section is made by crimping several layers of steel together, when you crush one end to make it oval to fit an oval shape it loses its structural integrity and the liner will come lose and they will fail as they have been doing.
Unlike our one size fits all competition we like to be able to offer a variety of different steel materials, sizes and configurations to cater to the variety of needs and budgets out there.
Since xmas we have been very busy and we have added a customer service person to answer the phone along with an additional TIG welder and a couple of part time fabricators to keep up with production, looks like we will have to add a few more shortly. We do return calls but I am sure we probably miss one once in a while. Sorry if it was you.

im just curious..
with so many ppl wondering which ypipe is better, has anyone had the chance to test all 3 on the dyno to see which is REALLY better?
btw. what is the diff between CDN and USA steel? never knew there was a difference.

Canada is NOT a 3rd world country...
We supply steel cheaper than the Americans because of the DOLLAR
DIFFERENCE and because (I think) Canadian companies receive
incentives from the federal government.

Bottom line is you can get a T-304 Stainless Steel non-mandrel bent pipe for $170 US shipped, you can't beat that deal.
I have also heard just recently that Budget will be offering a mandrel bent pipe as well if that is a concern to anyone.
All I know is that my Budget pipe works great and I have nothing but praise for the Budget folks who went out of their way to help me.

y-pipe ordering
Thankfully, by adding an additional TIG welder, we are slowly catching up. We anticipate even shorter waits in near future.Again, we try hard to return calls in a reasonable fashion. Dallas and I get up to 100 e-mails daily and returning calls can take time. Our sister Lynne currently answers the phone and is actually getting quite knowledgeable. She has daily contact with Dallas or myself. She can usually tell you how far behind we are. Many questions can be answered by going to our web site.
If you cannot reach anyone at our 1-866-801-9338 # during business hours, feel free to e-mail me. I check my mail 2-3 times daily. I am not the fabrication specialist like Dallas, but I am able to field most questions.

Borla?
What about Borla for exhaust equipment? Do they make Y-pipes or anything for Maximas? I hear that they are good in other markets, but I haven't heard anyone mention them here.
Where to buy Budget for $170 US?
I notice that on this thread people are saying the Budget Y Pipe is $170-$178 US shipped.
I'm looking on their web site and I must be looking at the wrong part because it says that the T-304 Stainless Steel pipes are $325 Canadian. (US$210) The one I'm looking at is called the 'F' pipe? What is the correct part number for the 4th Gen Maxima Y pipe?, and where is the best place to purchase it?

Would the Stillen off-road race pipe (Y-pipe) give better results on the dyno as opposed to any others? Stillen also has a race pipe (not off-road). I assume that the off-road one would be better for more HP/torque gains on the dyno.
But that Stillen off-road pipe compared to Budget or Warpspeed or whatever, would it still be a bit better, even though it costs a lot more?

Are you installing it yourself? Is it something that can be done ouside a professional shop? If you can can you do it yourself, any chance of doing a writeup - post it to ShopTalk. It'd be much appreciated...

Basically, there are bolts (4 of 'em?) on each end of the pipe, and the two O2 sensors
that "screw" into the Y-pipe.
The only difficulty is if the Y-Pipe is badly corroded, or if bolts get stuck...
Hope this helps!

Does the Y pipe connect directly to the stock Catalytic converter? what noise increase if any does it make?
