Review of cheap non-OEM rear 02 sensor
I thought I'd post this since I think I'm one of the few people that has ordered an 02 sensor from buyoxygensensors.com, and I usually take rather than give from this forum.
Well my rear 02 sensor was tripping the CEL, and spraying it with carb cleaner was no use. I looked around and found a Nissan replacement would be something like $120, so decided to try a universal one. $50 shipped to anywhere in US ($55 to me in Can.)
The drawback is that it does NOT come with the OEM connector (the part that sits inside the car body and leads back to the ECU). You have to chop and splice the new wires into place, somewhere between the sensor and the connector.
But...They do provide full instructions; which wires go to which, wire crimps etc. They also supply small rubber tubing which goes over each connection that you make. Apply some heat to the tubing from a match, and it shrinks up to a tight waterproof seal around your connections.
The rest is easy: same 22mm wrench, fits straight in where the old one came out.
It took me maybe an hour longer than replacing an OEM part. But for a 60 buck saving, I would recommend it.
Perhaps if it were one of the front two sensors I might consider getting an OEM part (really precise feedback from those is more important since they're part of fuel mixture control).
But I can say that the universal sensor has certainly been good enough to keep my check engine light off.
So, a bit of care with the wiring, and you've solved a problem and saved yourself some money.
Hope some of you find this useful..

Not sure O2 sensor bad or not
I got my engine light on last week. I check it by turning the ECU thing...and it says that my O2 sensor is bad. I left it unchange but I reset the ECU engine light, and it off until now.
Is it still need to be changed?
